Tax Guide
January 13, 2010 by Mark Anthony
It’s that time of the year, tax time and I am here to give you the best tax tip of the new year. It’s called The Ernst & Young Tax Guide 2010 (for preparing your 2009 taxes). And even if you have an accountant or someone that does your taxes, you need to have this book to know what is going on. It also helps you do your accounting for 2010.
Perfect for the independent contractor. Every federal form you may need is in here. Dissected line by line. Everything is explained in plain English with real life examples including IRS rulings and court cases (both good and bad).
The biggest reason I push this book so highly is that they explain everything so well. Why certain rulings went one way and why the IRS ruled another way. How you can use each deduction afforded to you. They even give you suggestions for optimizing deductions or lowering certain fees. In simple english!
This book will walk you through if, when or when not to deduct something. Is it for business? Pleasure? or all of the above. Home office? Not a problem. Storage space? Yup. How about those membership dues? Yes, it explains what constitutes an educational verses business deduction. The book itself is a tax deduction!
I use it frequently as a reference if I have any questions about a purchase I am about to make can be a tax deduction or the way something is listed in my bank book. Making the end of year tax prep a breeze.
This book is a must for tour professionals. We have a lot of purchases that normally would not be a business deduction, but because of our unique circumstances (on the road), can be. Admissions, supplies, phone service, clothing, etc… It’s in here.
Take a look and I would bet you find you have missed some deductions had it not been for this book
